Why is Maya running for Commissioner in District 4?
Arapahoe County is growing faster than our roads, housing, and services can handle. Families are feeling the squeeze — from the rising cost of living to long waits for care to neighborhoods struggling with safety and stability.
I’m running because I believe county government should focus on the basics: safe streets, attainable housing, reliable infrastructure, good-paying jobs, and accessible mental health support. These aren’t partisan issues — they’re the everyday challenges families, small businesses, and new arrivals face across our community.

I’m running to make sure immigrants and long-time residents alike have a fair chance to build a life here. I’m running to strengthen opportunities for working people and small business owners so they don’t just get by, but get ahead. And I’m running because leadership should be about solving problems, not scoring political points. Together, we can build a county where every family has a voice, every worker has a path toward prosperity, and every neighborhood feels like home.
Arapahoe County is at a crossroads. Our population is booming, but our housing supply, infrastructure, and services aren’t keeping up. Families are being priced out. Mental health needs are growing. Trust in government is falling. I’m running because I believe we can rise to this moment – if we lead with heart, humility, and a plan. I’m running to fight for attainable housing, high-quality jobs, and mental health access.
I’m running to create upward mobility for working people. I’m running because politics has become too performative—and too disconnected from people’s real lives.
And I’m running because no one should have to fight for a fair shot alone. So what do you say, are you with me, neighbor?
